Here am I! Send me.

Someone very close to me has big plans for her life. They include lots of education and a job that makes life better for those that are hurting. I think these are awesome plans. I have encouraged her and am praying for her daily.

Proverbs 19:21 says, “There are many plans in a man’s heart, nevertheless the Lord’s counsel-that will stand.” Out of nowhere she is now feeling called to mission work. Her education would definitely aid her in what she feels led to do. But her idea of a private practice here in the States may or may not be in her future.

The beautiful thing about this young woman is she is willing. She is willing to lay aside her plans, goals and aspirations to follow God’s call on her life. She is strong in her faith. She exudes it with every breath she makes. I look at her sometimes in awe of such great faith for she has endured much at a young age.

I’m not sure what your story is or where this finds you today but if He’s calling you, answer Him, Here am I. Send me. It won’t make sense. Not many in your sphere of influence will understand. You won’t even understand. But I urge you to be willing.

Hillsong United puts it this way: “You call me out upon the waters, the great unknown where feet may fail. And there I find you in the mystery, in oceans deep, my faith will stand…Your grace abounds in deepest waters, your sovereign hand will be my guide, where feet may fail and fear surrounds me, You’ve never failed and You won’t start now.”

Go on. Say yes. I know it’s scary and it doesn’t look like what you had pictured at this stage of your life. God will provide for you. Every moment in your life up to this moment has prepared you for what He’s asking you to do. He will give you exactly what you need when you need it to accomplish His plan.

It’s been close to a year that He called me away from my job. I’m still waiting on Him to move. I know He is going to. I have no doubt on what He said to do. He has taught me so much in these 11 months. Lessons I wouldn’t have learned distracted by my demanding job. He will make good on His promises to me. I just have to be patient.

Be vigilant in everything He says to do. I haven’t been. I lost my focus for the task at hand. I began well. But I let the naysayers influence me. I have my eyes on the prize now and have asked Him to bind my wandering heart to Him.

What about you? Are you moving closer to Him and His call or are you hiding from Him (like He can’t see you!). It’s a faith factor friends. Trust Him and move forward! The things you do for yourself in this world are temporary. The things you do for God are eternal.

Have you ever seen a Mom or Dad in the pool coaxing their little one to jump to them? The distance between the two isn’t far.  The parents aren’t doing it for their own benefit. They encourage them to jump to build their courage. The child has to completely trust in order to leap. I have never seen a parent in the pool jump back and not catch their baby. Their eyes are laser focused on the child. There are only seconds that lapse from the time the child jumps to the time they are safely in their parents arms.

It’s time for you to jump friend. God will catch you. He will lead you. He will help you. I am praying for your faith to propel you forward. May the peace of God encompass you for your journey with Him.
